Maggie Maxwell is a comedy writer and performer living in New York City. A Syracuse native and University of Rochester graduate, Maggie was trained in sketch & improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Maggie currently co-hosts the long-running monthly live show, Would You Rather with Andre and Maggie. A TimeOutNY and New York Times’ critic pick, Maggie and Andre Medrano invite the funniest people they know from the worlds of stand up, sketch comedy, improv & beyond to answer their exceedingly original questions. Crucial questions like, “would you rather suffer from acute FOMO or definitively find out that...YOLO?” “Have to speak in business jargon with loved-ones or in over the top baby talk with colleagues?” “Get off the grid or really get on the gram?”

In addition to their monthly live show in Brooklyn, Maggie and Andre have brought Would You Rather on the road, performing in Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, as well as San Francisco Sketchfest 2023, Madison Comedy Week 2022, and the 2021 Flyover Comedy Festival in St. Louis where WYR was a headlining act. The show can also be caught from anywhere in the world every other month digitally, on Comedy Hub.

A member of GOLD Comedy’s Digital Production Teams, Maggie currently writes and acts for sketch team No Worries If Not, which has been featured at the Lysistrata Comedy Festival and Catalyst Content Festival.

Maggie is currently featured as a Hockey Mom for Geico in “The Lamps” commercial, and appeared on national television for NBC's Bring the Funny as a sketch writer and actor with the team Kids These Days.

In addition to holding a monthly show at the People’s Improv Theater (The PIT), Maggie performed with Kids These Days in comedy festivals across the country, such as San Francisco Sketchfest, Flyover Comedy Festival, Austin Sketch Fest, and many more.

Maggie has written, performed, and directed for the prestigious BoogieManja sketch comedy program in NYC. As an actress she has starred in numerous videos for Scary Mommy, as well as in the web series, The Vertical. She has also written and contributed jokes to a variety of online comedy outlets, such as Cracked, Funny or Die, and Reductress, where she has published over 60 pieces to date.
